Rate Increase Request for Insurances- Letter Template

$25.00

If you know me, you know I hate insurance companies.
But I also personally believe that accepting insurance is important for access to care. So, begrudgingly, I still accept insurance. That said, I’ve gotten pretty good at professionally (and politely) bullying insurance companies into raising their rates.

This is the exact template I’ve used to do it.

It’s a straightforward, editable letter that helps you request a rate increase from commercial payers. If you’re in-network and feeling like your pay doesn’t reflect the time, training, and emotional labor you pour into your work… you’re not wrong.

What’s inside:

  • A clean, editable Word doc

  • Pre-written, professional language that makes your case without sounding like a lawyer

  • Talking points based on actual market data, caseload breakdowns, and client outcomes

This letter focuses on what matters: fair pay, sustainable practice, and continuing to serve your clients without burning yourself out in the process.

One successful rate increase could change your monthly income—permanently. You deserve that.
